  6. Keeping your eye on the ball--- realized capital gains

Workshop #6: How to exorcise the Wall Street Performance Demons:

  1. Calendar year performance evaluation
  2. Market Value only focus and comparison with indices
  3. Omniscience and future prediction
  4. Sameness of strategy and crash results
  5. Product Addiction
  6. Tails that "wag the dog"

Workshop #7: Miscellaneous Investment Q & A:

  1. Anything goes: Current Events, Investment Politics, Social Security Reform, Executive Compensation, Tax Reform, etc. Bring your questions on anything investment related, but try to keep it in the general area of traditional investing and/or
  2. A "main points" review of "The Six Steps to a More Secure Investment Portfolio". Yes, any of my articles can be discussed.

  1. Tools: S & P Stock Guide, IGVSI Website, Personal Worksheets, "Watch List Program", WCM friendly stockbrokers
  2. Rules: Cost based asset allocation, QDI, profit-taking, macro & micro buying, ATH decision making
  3. Concepts: The Working Capital Model, Smart Cash, The Investor's Creed, Base Income, WCM performance "Line Dance", Aging, IRE, money streams.

Workshop #9: Investment Terms YOU Need To Dig Into:

    Average Pricing, Buy More Target, Conventional Wisdom, Day-Limit Order, Float, Fundamental Analysis, Ginny Maes, Issue Breadth, K I S S Principle, Leverage, Liquidity, Market Timing, Model Record Keeping, Open Order, Principal, REITs (private), Revenue Bonds, Selection Universe, Socially Conscious Investing, Spread, Stock Dividends/Splits, Stock Quotation, Tax Lots, Technical Analysis, Tick, Total Return Analysis, Uncertainty, Unit Trusts, Variable Annuities, Window Dressing, Working Capital, WRAP Accounts, etc.

Workshop #10: What's Your Investment IQ?

    This workshop considers 30 True or False statements, based on concepts, news stories, investment strategies, product ideas, and conventional Wall Street Wisdom. Things you should know in order to invest intelligently. You will have 15 minutes to submit your answers to the moderator. The balance of the workshop will focus on those statements where there was not 100% agreement.
